Going to some party's and raves would be a good start, it's like asking how can you measure how good a piece of music is (very difficultly!)

Sounds about right. Check out how people most commonly "party" there too: they binge drink to oblivion on the weekends.

Neither do mine, but it happens in some night clubs for example.

You seem to be ignoring the rave scene

Are you kidding? I bet a ton of us go to raves or undergrounds or festivals, Burning Man has been pretty much taken over by SV tech dweebs, and I meet tons of tech folks in the local scene here, and that scene is just a tiny fraction of the overall picture for this areaIf YOU don't, I would highly recommend considering it. Hell I'm pretty sure I got my COVID 19lbs because I couldn't go out and dance at parties when lockdown hit

To quote Lorde,> I'm kind of over gettin' told to throw my hands up in the air> So therePersonally, I don't like white boy shuffling and yelling into someone's ear to have a "conversation" enough to justify the club experience, never mind the overpriced drinks. I guess the people who really like the music and dancing have moved on to the rave scene.

Rave/music scene is where a lot of people make friends too.

Trying to get into the clubs is enough.

You are simply disconnected. The rave scene is thriving.

rokhayakebe Mar 24, 2011 View on HN

Not really. Let's say you walk in a club at 1AM, you get to see what the party was like before you. Also clubs are usually concentrated in the same area, so you may also see what happening in the other establishments.
