HN Zeitgeist is an analysis of over 40 million Hacker News comments, organized into thousands of distinct topics using AI. It reveals what the tech community really talks about, how opinions evolve over time, and which topics are rising or falling.
How It Works
HN Zeitgeist uses AI-powered analysis to process millions of comments and automatically discover topics, trends, and patterns in the data. Our proprietary methodology combines semantic understanding with temporal analysis to reveal insights that keyword search alone cannot find.
Each topic is labeled with a human-readable name and categorized for easy exploration. Trend analysis shows which topics are gaining or losing traction over time.
Limitations
- Topic grouping is approximate - some comments may be miscategorized
- Topic labels are AI-generated and may not perfectly capture nuance
- HN represents a specific tech community, not the general public
- Historical data may have gaps or inconsistencies
