Regional accents won't play nice with that.

am I walking into something here? I am concerned about regional bias. which dialect of English is being spoken?

anigbrowl Jul 19, 2022 View on HN

That's just the regional accent.

I stand corrected — Very unusual given how "similar" your accents are and your proximity to the states.

American, but in what accent do those words use different vowel sounds?

It's true, spend some time in the South (US) or Britain, and return to the midwest, they will comment on how you picked up an accent while you were there.

Or "pronouncing words properly". I'm originally from the Midwest too and have received similar responses. Although I've never been accused of having a British accent - just "an accent" that can't be pinned down.

Americans speak with wildly different accents. Oklahomans sound different from Arkansas natives; Georgians quite different from each. In New York there is more than one accent.

That's somewhat dialect/accent dependent.
