Vscode feels blitz fast. Which apps have you tried that feel slow?
Since vscode is already pretty fast, you are probably right.

Strange, since I find a ton of devs say the slowness is justified since vscode has IDE fucntionality.
It's slower, tbqh. It choked on a decent sized Rust project (scrolling became laggy/unusable) that VS Code handles fine.
Trying any editor other than VSCode might help; it’s notoriously slow.
I bet VS Code will be as slow if it could have the same features.

That is not true about vscode anymore. It is fairly performant now.
