I filed an FTC complaint. I'd encourage other concerned folks do the same, since out of court settlements with the FTC are how this is currently adjudicated in the US.
You should absolutely expect a response. The ICO was set up exactly for cases like these and is funded by the taxes you are paying.Make sure you have filled in the correct complaint forms and provided your personal details. Sending an email with a link to the lew.io site or this HN thread is useless to them.
As a European resident, I have put in a complaint to the company for you. Should it be dismissed out-of-hand, I will forward a complaint to my national Information Commissioner's office. I will post any results.
