They probably mean the compilation is much faster than Rust.

jmaygarden Feb 22, 2021 View on HN

Rust does not build fast. It’s more comparable to C++ if not worse.

frankzinger May 12, 2015 View on HN

How does Rust's compile times compare with those of C++?

Ygg2 Apr 4, 2013 View on HN

In what? Compilation speed? Atm Rust is no way the light nimble language they need it to be.

akmittal Apr 8, 2023 View on HN

Rust has very long compile time compared to Go

EugeneOZ Nov 22, 2018 View on HN

Finally some numbers, thanks. Yes, Rust compilation is slower.

mbrock Dec 1, 2016 View on HN

Compared to Rust the compiler is also really fast.

johnny22 Apr 7, 2022 View on HN

Rust isn't known for quick compile time.

jhasse Jul 10, 2017 View on HN

Rust's compile times are even worse.

saagarjha Feb 22, 2021 View on HN

Dependencies make this much worse, but Rust itself is not really very fast at being compiled.
