Kubernetes Cluster Costs

Google Cloud and Digital Ocean both offer managed kubernetes clusters, you only pay for the workers.

Managed kube costs $0.10 per cluster per hour for GKE, and the first one is free. 72$ monthly is nothing.

Hey thanks a lot! Yep crazy high to the point of scary high lol. It's Kubernetes on Google Cloud. It is awesome no doubt, but man ... this could be ran on a $5/mo DO droplet. Was thinking of migrating tbh.

Maybe pick a cheaper provider such as digital ocean for managed k8s?

stop lying, the whole point of using Kubernetes is to cut cost and not pay for 10 deferent cloud services

I am a one-person team running Kubernetes on Google Cloud. It costs around $62 per month before tax. (One n1-standard-1 node for $35.34 per month, HTTP Load Balancing $18.60 per month and SSD persistent disks for $8.50 per month). Kubernetes gives me the ability to scale up quickly when the need comes (which is soon, hopefully).I evaluated AWS Fargate & Kubernetes, Azure and GKE before settling on GKE. We ran our project on Google's K8s for $76 a month for quite a while. They provide one free Master. There is no way, EVER, that I would host K8s myself for the size of the projects I usually work on. But having a panic in one of my services at 1am, and K8s auto-restarting the pod is amazing. Namespaces even let us run three separate environments for that same $76. We have a couple thousand users per day who are in the app all day, so not a large project. We use other services like GCP Cloud
