my smart, young hipster friends say tiktok does a phenomenal job of building tools that enhance creators and classify streaming content to consumers, neither of which fb does well. text is dead. spread the good news.
Why TikTok and not YouTube, though?
You think TikTok is facsimile of Facebook?
There is lot of good content creators on TikTok apart from (dancing/singing) ones, the TechTok community is huge , It really depends on what interest the end users have, It's all individual attention driven algorithm that caters to the end user needs based on their likes/dislikes. It's faster to learn if you don't like something it does a good job in not recommending those type of content again. Which I believe Instagram/youtube isn't that great at.
TikTok seems to be more specialized on addictiveness: auto-play unlimited stream of short videos. It's all about removing friction, and TikTok has a good recommendation system.
TikTok already does the latter iirc.
TikTok is to YouTube what Twitter is to blog posts.
Pro TikTok take. It's easier and friendlier to consume. The algorithm is good at tailoring interests. But, it's more like TV than FB.
TikTok is the spiritual successor to Vine, but with YouTube scale.
You're just describing TikTok/Youtube algorithm.
