That seems like a really low amount to pay for tuition. In the US, many universities charge upwards of $20,000 per year, some as high as $100,000 a year.

Is it just me or does 17k/student/yr for tuition, books, food, and accommodations not seem unreasonable

Wait, how do five years of University at a price of $80 - $10000 a year add up to 750'000. Because that is a huge number.

It's $10-$20k per year for a university for mo

US university can easily surpass $100k in tuition alone. My alma mater, UVA, currently estimates the total cost of attendance for in-state (subsidized by state government) at $34k/year (tuition, room-board, other expenses). For out-of-state students, that number is $68k/year. And this is a state university, not a private institution.

I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which had a "total cost of attendance" for out of state students at $40,000 in 2010.For in state students it was only $15,000 per year.I came from a "middle class" family and received "grants" from the school, such that my cost of attendance per year averaged to $25,000.Ever since I graduated, not a single person has ever asked me anything regarding my education, and I currently make $93,000 per ye

Have you looked at college costs recently? Look what Michigan costs for an in-state student: https://admissions.umich.edu/costs-aid/costsOr Maryland: https://financialaid.umd.edu/resources-policies/cost-attenda...Or Texas: <a href="https:/&#x
