Now you're describing the difference between an extrovert and an introvert. Appreciate everyone is not the same!
what you are describing looks like the classical definition of introverts vs extroverts to. so where is the difference or the misunderstanding?
The extroverts I’ve known all thrive and get energy in social situations. I use this now as my deciding factor for introversion and extroversion. Are you sure you aren’t an introvert with extrovert skills. That’s what I am. I can talk to anyone easily but it drains me.
the whole dichotomy of introversion-extroversion needs to be scraped! an individual is more than capable of being either an introvert/extrovert depending upon the situation, the context, and the other interacting agents.
The whole concept of introversion vs. extroversion is oversimplified.
You're implying that the introvert/extrovert split as a choice.

Guess what, you're probably an extrovert. :-) Introverts recognize they are introverts and that being extroverted is draining no matter how much they do it.I've known very-obvious extroverts who would talk about "being an introvert" at some time in their life - when it was really them either suffering from shyness or being extremely preoccupied with something. Extroverts seem to have a tough time understanding introverts.
I’ve come across a couple true extraverts recently, and it has reinforced the idea that there are introverted and extraverted personality types. Previously, I don’t think I fully believed that anyone felt recharged rather than drained being around people. Note that social, outgoing, highly-connected people can be introverts.Because extraverts are more at home in a social setting than alone — again, hard to even imagine for an introvert — they will tend to choose being around people over bei
I think this is one of those points where introverted people differ a lot from extraverted people.
