Meh, i think that this is part of beeing an entrepreneur. You don't consider the risks as high as others.
High risk? Really? What do you have to lose? Time spent doing what you love?
some people have different risk appetite
Everyone has a different level of risk aversion. Some people want to play it very safe, and others are willing to take large risks if the possible rewards appear worth it.
Bear in mind that if you take big risks there's a 99% chance you'll be the reason it's a risk :-)
Struggle is not the deterrent for most people; risk is.
This is more related to risk taking.
Just because you're the best one to take a bad risk, doesn't mean the risk's worth taking.
I'm gonna zoom out here a little. I've been living a life that for decades has felt like slavery to what I confidently believe is an overly risk averse cultural mindset, applied to economic life. I see no safe path to a life I could tolerate myself choosing. If it became clear to me, I would take longer odds of death than the American colonist in your example to break free of it, because dying is preferable to me over living in the boxes most people are eager to ensconce me in.
Can't be taking risks. You might actually accomplish something.
