The way you talk about it exactly mirrors my experience. I have ADD as well, and I take Adderal-XR. Without it I'm scattered, "double back" on my thoughts a lot, can't focus, and generally have no motivation. With it I'm a different person. I can focus, I can finish a thought process, I'm motivated, things become clear. I can actually "keep up" with others in "normal life", and it makes me a great programmer. It really does feel like the magi
I would suggest trying Vyvanse[1] instead of Adderall. It's available by prescription and, being an amphetamine, is schedule II (meaning there are rules on how much you're allowed to have at one time, I think 30/month). Nevertheless, it has greatly increased my productivity with minimal side-effects; the only side-effect I've noted to date is diminished appetite, but it does seem to have worn off over time.[1] <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisdexamfetamine" rel="no
Although I've noticed next to nothing from Modafinil, and not the best results for Ritalin, Adderall is the only thing that makes me feel like a normal person on a daily basis.Unforunately I won't be able to renew my prescription due to doctors not even wanted to be associated with prescribing it anymore - it's a shame how anyone even asking about getting tested for ADHD is basically looked as either a junkie or someone trying to game the system.
I’ve seen friends with stimulant and can say with full confidence they are not reacting to them the way I am. They’re « high », ideas everywhere and nowhere, acting like their overstimulated, full of energy… when I’m quieter, energy level normal, can think at one thing at a time without switching… and sleeping under the effect is not an issue. I a have great nap.So no. Maybe if I try a récréative drug will I have my adhd multiplied, but here it’s not. I think it should have been fun while yo
I have bad ADHD. I basically can't code or do anything mentally tedious without pills. No matter how much sugar, caffeine etc I take, my brain doesn't want to. I have gone months without, exercised properly and tried low sugar diets etc, tried everything, nothing worked. I made some tiny gains, as do everyone, how you treat yourself still matters for handicapped people. But then I got those pills, and now I can happily code many hours per day, my handicap is gone, it changed my whole l
If he responded so well to amphetamine, I would simply think he had ADHD, not a drug problem. I take amphetamines every day, and I also have a hard time working without them.(Adderall is "mixed amphetamine salts", for those that may not know)Folks with ADHD respond to stimulants in way that is quite different to those with more typical attention steering skills.
Have you considered modafinil? It allegedly has fewer side-effects, but a similar effect as adderal.
as someone who's prescribed amphetamine (i.e. adderall) for [inattentive] ADHD, and have also tried meth-amphetamine, I just want to point out that those are two very different drugs as far as effects and potency go.Methamphetamine is so strong, I honestly couldn't even tolerate small amounts of the stuff. The few times I've tried it just resulted in dehydration, headaches, and muscle aches, easily outweighing any cognitive effects it had (which weren'
Your ADHD medication is performance enhancing.
In my experience, yes, unless treated with amphetamines.
