Why would someone want to use this over Vault or the multitude of other secrets managers?
Use something like Vault: https://www.vaultproject.io/
You have to look into a solution that can manage secrets easily, I think Hashicorp's Vault is an example of a product in this space.
There is Hashicorp Secrets Management which I haven't used, but might be a solution you're looking for.[0] https://www.hashicorp.com/products/vault/secrets-management
In the past I've used Hashicorp Vault to handle this kind of situation. Granted, it's an additional piece of infrastructure to manage but Vault has been pretty solid for this kind of situation and others where you need to safely manage secrets.
Those using Secret Managers, could you share some articles on your set up ? Very interested ! Vault seems quite complex for some simple use cases
AWS secrets manager or SSM or KMS for any kind of secrets, keys etc. Works well because our entire stack is on AWS. Otherwise hashicorps Vault would do I guess but that’s yet another service on life support.
Take a look at hashicorp vault - https://hashicorp.com/blog/vault.html
Alternatively, just use Hashicorp vault (https://vaultproject.io)
Is there a good open source secret management abstraction that works for both containers and serverless? I’d love to use one library to connect to AWS SM and Vault and whatever we replace Vault with.
