"should "But often not. That was the point in the parent. How this is being reported is bit skewed. And also there is the problem that nobody reads corrections. Lies run around the globe before the Truth has tied its shoelaces, or some quote like that.
I'm not in the US, but if it's anywhere similar to the situation I live in, media outlets will either:1. Make a small apology for not sharing the truth that's not going to be very visible on their website.2. Just ignore the facts. Their work is done, they're moving on to different stories and pretty much forgetting this one. Now, if 1st case happens, and it happens very rarely, you can bet that the apology is not going to be read by as large amount of people as the or
Some media seem more interested in getting the details of a story wrong.
Any examples for incredibility and misleading reporting by them?
You donβt think a critique of the accuracy of reporting is relevant to the HN audience? The fact this misinformation was spread by a reporter responsible for outing disinformation is even more relevant.
Your experience might be different, but that in no way makes what I said misleading. This article reminds me of Dan Rather's "fake but accurate" posturing when he got caught. There was no accident here. The media had a story it believed desperately needed to be told, so they told it, facts be damned. This is who they are and what they do.
"It is outrageous for a journalist to write such lies, accusing me of serious crimes, without even contacting me to find out what happened."There is little to nothing that can be done about this. It's all about narratives, sensationalism, and agendas today.Just take a look at the media stories about Ukraine where everyone (in US media) just makes shit up and presents it as the truth. No one questions anything.Or the Michael Brown shooting. Where the media (CNN, MSNBC) pus
Are they reporting things that are factually incorrect?
