Are you using Wayland? If so, where the compatibility issues resolved? (that's one reason why I moved to AMD GPUs over Nvidia).

I have a GTX 970 and the Wayland experience was full of stuttering and glitchy windows. Had to install x11.

All of this is supported by wayland, caveat: nvidia and wayland do not play nicely at all.
