Why don't you contact your potential users and ask them?

Have you ever run user tests though?

I'm in a similar boat with my app and we've found success by implementing the MomTest (http://momtestbook.com/). The premise is that your users are well-intentioned and will tell you what you want to hear, just like your mom would. To work around this, you employ the MomTest- basically you avoid all questions with words like "would you", "do you", etc because they lead to red herrings

Have you talked to your users about this? Try it. Also, prospects other than your users.

Nothing wrong with being bold and trying new ideas but obvious is only really qualifiable via user testing. It's simple thing to do to see if your product is actually usable. My method is to get 3 random craigslist people and pay them $50 bucks to play with the app for an hour. Record them struggling and have them talk through their thoughts and how they use your app. You will learn more from that experience than anything else.

Metafilter Projects can give you some good insight/test users, especially if your product isn't just techie-focused.
