I have no idea how people accept it eitherIt's the one thing that's consistently sat in the back of my mind since age 5 and hasn't leftThe only response I have is this: the stress from thinking about dying makes life expectancy go down, so logically if you want to avoid death you shouldn't think about it in excess (this whole thing is contradictory, but a contradiction is the best thing I have)

Because a human life is so incredibly short that decline and death are rapidly impending, and it's difficult not to think about them constantly. Perhaps I'm unusual, but I think about death-- my death, not just the abstraction-- several times per day. And I'm not a depressed or morbid person, so I think this is pretty normal.It would suck if the final act of existence were painful decline, followed by eternal oblivion. I've had the opposite experience.I remember being very young and starting to think about death, and thinking it the most horrible thing imaginable. That the beautiful experience of life as a human should end in annihilation. That we would just stop existing at some point.Now I'm watching my oldest daughter suffer the same realization. I tell her that there are a few people who are working on solving the problem, that I hope they can figure it out fast enough, that I understand
