Is that actual results of the prompt? That doesn't seem Tolkien-esque at all.

I do not think this is a typo. Tolkien is very old school. Many people today do not share his opinions and world views. Most old books, movies... were subverted and reinterpreted today, just look at starwars or Witcher. Huge corporation spend billions just for an opportunity to defecate on Tolkien's grave. But his legacy seems to be resistant to this sort of damage!

Or maybe Tolkien's humans :)

It is very much true to the lore of J.R.R. Tolkiens Middle-earth.

hmm... wonder what J.R.R. Tolkien would have to say about this.

Perhaps like in 'Lord Of The Rings', don't think too hard about Gandalf and the Great Eagles.

I don’t think so. Lotr is pretty sound and even the eagles my doom thing was explained by Tolkien.Part of the neatness of the world to me is how everything fits together. Dwarves don’t decide to randomly shave their beards. Elven kings don’t scheme against their subjects. Nothing happens randomly in lotr or even the hobbit book.

It has been some years since I read LotR, but wasn’t there one very widespread edition that contained a foreword by Tolkien where he very clearly denied any allegory behind the story, and was obviously fed up by people claiming such?

That is a very astute observation! I seem to remember Tolkien himself explaining that The Silmarillion was from an elvish view, the middle tale of The Hobbit was a virtually human view, and The Lord of the Rings blends them. I think he meant in tone and style, but the subject material aligns with your view as well. To my mind, the Numenorean legends in Unfinished Tales seem closer to The Silmarillion than either of his other two main published works.

Tolkien’s ring has a better story.
