Why would this be doable for Tesla but not every other car manufacturer?
How do these compare to what Tesla is using?
Does the Tesla battery come with electronic chips to prevent 3rd party batteries like inkjet printer cartridges?
Is that something that others canβt replicate, maybe due to Tesla having patents on the specifics?
I expect Tesla to still have a few components like that in the car.
Teslas, despite their hype, are not some kind of revolutionary car. They use the same technology as every other car, though they improve things where they can, such as their motor efficiency. Standard car parts still need to be powered by low voltage, and it wouldn't make sense to make everything proprietary just for the tesla.
Why is this any different from tesla selling you software locked batteries?
Isn't the tech Tesla is using licensed from Mercedes?
Motors aren't a secret technology. And Panasonic makes the batteries and sells to Tesla. The only thing Tesla can sell as technology is Autopilot, which is just hyped up driver assistance.Have you even heard of electric cars like Renault Zoe, Chevy Bolt, BYD ev300? All with range from 180-230 miles, selling since 2016.
In what sense does Tesla use their own chips?
