Seems like a lot of money for adsense to pay out- How much traffic was the site seeing?
Care to show the website that generated over $10K in ad revenue?
That seems quite low, compare with AdSense,https://www.google.com/adsense/start/#calculator
For adsense, that's a CPM of $.28. I'm guessing your audience is pretty valuable and someone would be willing to pay 10-30x that for advertising, but you'd probably have to sell it direct. I'm not sure if you get enough traffic for that to work, though...maybe someone else here can elaborate.
Iād really like to know how much money can be realistically made. I have a niche price comparison website getting around 300k page views monthly. Would it make sense to bother with Adsense at this point since other attempts at revenue have not worked out.
Wouldn't keeping someone earning $5000 on AdSense make more sense financially for them?
Find another way to monetize the site. It is likely that adsense is not going to be the great earner you think it may be?
I had a site that had 60k unique visitors a day. Adsense decided it didn't want to show ads on 90% on requests. I was making $150/month with server costs of over $500.A company approached me to join their private ad network and the next month I earned $5700.
I get a little over a million uniques a month (~4mil pageviews) and earn about $2500 / month from ads.Think I'm missing an order of magnitude somewhere.
You must be doing pretty well to get $1500 from AdSense. You might try direct sale of advertising - they pay much more than AdSense so you could boost revenue without showing a ton of ads. (I haven't done this, just heard. No idea how hard it would be to sign advertisers).
