Food got 100% more expensive ? Where are you getting your numbers from ?
isnt his point that the price of groceries has recently only grown a small amount? compared to previous months or quarters which have grown quite a bit
Doesn’t seem much given inflation and price increases. Everything is 50% more expensive right now than a 2-3 years back
Check US inflation since the early 80's. It's 200%.For something more recent, look at US home prices over the past year. It's crazy.Food costs are also rising. Anecdotally, grocery prices have gone up quite a bit. Restaurants, too. I don't remember a large pizza costing $25 a couple years ago.

Perhaps the cost of goods has risen disproportionately to incomes?
The price of my lunch went from ~$8 to ~$18 during this period, it is noticeable. Had a look at the stock or real-estate markets?
A lot of things did. Seems like prices much tend to rise faster than inflation.
Glad we have a reasonable person here.Ive done the math for Food as well, the prices arent 'going up' like people claim. The only thing that has went up, is inflation.
The price of groceries going up is a good thing?
