While an interesting topic, the author needs to tone down the sexism before it seems like it deserves a place on HackerNews
I disagree with your view of what I posted. (it was not done with a unsubstantive+ragey stance) What I posted was a disagreement with the exaggeration of the alternative point of view they had. (Any article that doesn't agree with the popular ultra liberal women's positive view is "salted by mens rights [insert derogative terms etc]")Being anti-feminist is not a bad thing. It is a conversation that could be had (is it good, is it bad, etc), the topic of the original poster
This article is gender wars bait. I.e. men vs women. Why allow it on hackernews?
You are mostly right. Some of the things people are saying to you are awful and you are rightly calling it out. Please keep doing that. However, please consider that when something you post starts out by making a gender distinction (ie. "Things men have actually said..."), you are inviting everyone that has an investment in binary gender identity politics to either attack you (bitch) or support you (so brave).I'd be interested in a post on what is "men" and why it i
What is it with the gender related posts that brings out all the assholes on HN?? So many people are falling over themselves to denigrate this person's opinion.
Eh. Maybe don't project your problem on an unrelated bit of content? This article has nothing to do with sexism towards men or segregation. You're getting downvoted by people who don't want to argue. Not for want of an equal society, but for want of the _appearance_ of an equal society that doesn't actually exist.
The irony of being sexist in this HN thread is breaking my mind man.
It's an article about sexism and women complaining about sexism. This topic seems to be really trendy on Hackernews, judging by the shitstormy comment threads articles like that always generate.
I think people are just sick of the debate where no actual evidence of sexism is being produced. But most probably this was down flagged because it doesn't fit the narrative of social just warriors on HN. The author is saying that women programs are bad.
Looks like the account author privated their account and therefore killed the thread. What was the complaint? How was this article sexist?
