No meetings != no communication.

For customer/client communications, absolutely.Internally however, once I figure out someone is haphazard with meeting time and meanders around in meetings getting precious little if any action done, I take proactive measures.When they request a meeting, I ask for the agenda and the outcomes they want to take out of the meeting. Most of the time, everything is hashed out in advance in async channels and the meeting is either highly abbreviated from the original invitation or cancelled

Meetings are long enough without people spending extra effort doing it right :)

This is a feature, not a bug. Most meetings could have just been an e-mail or a slack thread. They don't want to spend 20 minutes writing an e-mail, so instead they spend an hour in a meeting where they find out they still need to spend 20 minutes thinking about something and writing it up. People need to learn to work without meetings. Open Source projects get work done with virtually no meetings at all.

We're talking about wasting time(money) in meetings.

Meetings are the last resort, not the first option. meetings take up our time. People need to kill time are the ones who hosts more meetings.

Discourage long, pointless meetings I imagine.

Managers forget to ask themselves if a slack message / email could have done it instead of creating ANOTHER meeting.
