Stick with VSCode. It's better in my experience.

You should give VSCode a try. I recently switched from Sublime to VSCode, and I'm very happy with it. Startup is a little slow, but the editor is blazing fast.

Use Zed. VS Code is dead.I've been using Zed for about a month and I'm very happy with performance the features. It guides you to setup only what you need, that was a problem with VSCode that would collect random plugins through time. I work regularly with Go, React, TypeScript, and I don't miss VSCode.

I was in your position a year back. Now I'm in love with VSCode. Do give it a try.

Sad to see it's just VScode over and over again. I would prefer a good editor first.

Speaking as a vim user who can't get comfortable in VSCode - use VSCode then, it's a great editor!

Try JetBrains. They feel snappier to me than VS Code. YMMV.

I was a vi user for a decade also and decided to try vscode and never looked back. I’m really not sure what it is about it but i just don’t fight with it. Since then I’ve also switched to PyCharm for python editing
