Meditation works well for me. The trick is you need to be consistent and patient. Try out the Calm app (my favorite), Headspace, or read "The Mind Illuminated" and start practicing daily.

Therefore practice meditation :)

I had good experience with the Headspace app for this. This kind of meditation especially is a learnable skill, so after a few weeks you probably won't need the app anymore.

Meditate and do it properly, for at least 15 minutes a day. Focus on your breath. You will hear sounds, feel sensations in your body, and have thoughts come and go. Observe these things but bring your focus back to your breath. I think you will begin to see the benefit after a week.

You could try meditation for 15 minutes a few times a week. Its hard to stick to but i always feel more aware of my thought process afterwards.

Meditate every day. I like the Calm app.

Check out https://www.headspace.com/ They have guided meditation that I really like. At least give the 10 free days a shot and see what you think, nothing to lose!

Have you tried meditation? Specifically vipassana or zen meditation are probably good ways to start tackling the whole package...

I'd suggest trying meditation.

I'll second this, I recently started going really downhill in terms of attention span and getting stuff done, so I figured I would give mediating a try. It was been great and really teaches you, you can't control thoughts that enter your mind, but you can let them go quickly. You should give it try, worst case you waste 5 minutes a day for a couple weeks
