Why do I like NTFS? It just works.

Seems unlikely that either will ever come to windows guess you should check out ReFS or install Linuxhttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/ReFS#/search

Could FAT be actually better than NTFS in this regard?

p_ing Jun 26, 2025 View on HN

Windows has NTFS and ReFS. Both are quite sane and performant.

Spivak Apr 22, 2023 View on HN

Or just using NTFS since Linux now has good support for it.

andyzweb Apr 23, 2012 View on HN

exFAT is Microsoft proprietary shit.

Why would you use NTFS on linux for anything other than occasional use?

badkitty99 Jul 19, 2021 View on HN

NTFS is a mess on Linux, one boot into Windows and your drive is now read only in Linux

bluedino Jun 1, 2020 View on HN

Not to rain on the parade but it's exFAT, not NTFS.
