Networks of hackable cars is a bad idea.
It might be an enormous security issue. Since everything is computer-controlled in a car these days, security is extremely important. Imagine somebody messing with the system, having access to the internal bus and disabling the (electric) brakes.
Depends on if you give untrusted users access to a shell on your car's infotainment system.

Why would it be legal to drive a car where the manufacturer can remotely tamper with safety equipment while in motion
I think this has some worrying implications, For example, could someone hack into your car and make it crash while making it look like an innocent accident?
