Read Gary Taubes' book "Good Calories, Bad Calories".
Sounds a lot like what Tim Ferriss advocates in the 4-hour body book.Would have been nice if they would have linked to supporting medical research though.
Gary Taubes "What if It's All Been a Big Fat Lie?" [1] is worth reading. Previously he wrote about bad science.[1] https://nytimes.com/2002/07/07/magazine/what-if-it-s-all-bee...
You might like Peter Attia's blog, http://eatingacademy.com/. He's an MD and endurance athlete, and does a lot of self-experimentation.
Read Good Calories, Bad Calories by Taubes.
Recent podcast that goes in-depth on this subject:https://www.foundmyfitness.com/episodes/mark-mattson
This is nearly a 90 minute video of Gary Taubes, do you have any other sources? A pubmed study for example or similar?
Figured that would be Peter Attia.https://peterattiamd.com/podcast/His podcast is amazing but can be dense and technical at times. He's evidence based and would probably fit in with the HN crowd.
