Worthwhile checking YouTube Vanced too. It looks and acts more like youtube, but newpipe has it's benefits too

Newpipe on FDroid completely replaced YouTube app and is much faster too. Never looked back.

Oh, I was worried that NewPipe would break! It's a great app. Currently I use Tubular, though, which is a fork of NewPipe with SponsorBlock and Return dislike embedded in.
