MacOS is less than 10% of their sales, so makes sense.
You seem to be living in an all apple bubble. MBP share is tiny when compared to windows laptops.
Yes, it is! Look at how much smaller MacOS market share is compared to iOS in their respective markets. Stated preference vs. revealed preference.
HackerNews is really a bubble sometimes. I don't get who the "many people" that "got used to macOS" are.Apple had fiery fest of sales in Q4 2021, outsold all Wintel manufacturers, let alone Chromebooks. And after that, guess what, they now have 8% of desktop/laptop market share, instead of 6% they used to have. You can guess who covers most of the other 90+ percent.Sent from my 2021 M1 Max MBP.
But 95% of computers sold ran windows then. 10% of computers run MacOS now and maybe 20% of phones. Just buy a different computer, or don't... Or if you are a developer, make software for Windows or Android instead.
Mac Os X on desktop seems [1] https://gs.statcounter.com/os-market-share/desktop/united-st...
Anyone not buying a macbook, which is still like 70% of the market
Probably because macs are a small part of the market
It's very common on HN to forget that Macs have only a 10% share of the laptop market for sure
This is a very Apple-centric view. A reminder:https://www.statista.com/statistics/576473/united-states-qua...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Market_share_of_personal_compu...
