My 2 year old Pixel 7 is working great, I've experienced none of these problems. That's frustrating.

Had this problem on my (beloved) Samsung Galaxy Nexus (i9250). It was released in Oct 2011, so I'm surprised it's a problem they still haven't fixed. I suppose longevity is only a small consideration to Google.

Weird, last 3-4 phones I owned were Pixels, never ever had a single issue.

I honesty haven't had a single issue with my Pixel. I'm curious what has gone wrong with yours.

Why doesn't any other phone manufacturer have this problem?

matwood Jan 4, 2013 View on HN

I have friends with Nexus phones that end up with similar issues.

Your sample size is too small. You may have gotten a lemon phone. I don't know what point you are trying to make based on your personal experience with 1 nexus phone. I have personally never experienced what you are talking about.

So you had a bad device. I am using a one plus device for last 2 years with none of your issues. I have friends relatives using even older devices. Not all devices are same.

So its all fine because 3 Android phones had a similar problem?

fooblaster Jan 26, 2024 View on HN

I have used a pixel 4a and pixel 6a for many years now and haven't had any of these issues. It sounds like potentially had defective hardware, and instead of getting it repaired you just lived with it.
