I'm shocked that this story seems to be upvoted less than the Gimli Glider story which has been on the front page for more than a day.One would think that the recent allegations of Russian hacking [0], as well as these allegations, would be of interest to the HN community. Whether either of the allegations is well-founded or not, they need to be investigated and understood by the public. It's worth noting that the President spent a great deal of his final press conference discussi
It is worse than Watergate. The FBI spied on a Presidential campaign using evidence supplied and paid for by the another candidate. If the names were changed, Hacker News people would be outraged. They would be mad at the FISA court, mad at the FBI, mad at the media.Look in the mirror and decide, do you have consistent principles or do they own apply in certain situations.
The fact remains that the President of the United States solicited the help of a foreign intelligence agency to hack into the private communications of his opponent. You're right that Clinton was already under investigation for Benghazi, but that's a sign that the correct domestic legal process was being followed. The FBI gathered evidence and she testified before congressional hearings. That's how things are supposed to go.Moreover, Hillary doesn't matter any mor
Donald Trump literally said she should be in prison her for the email server thing. Literally during campaign. It was cheered on.The emails scandal was on for months and got invoked during election by conservative pundits, politicians. Again and again and again and again. The consistent track record of just extremely one sided care for security, respectability, lies and what not actually matter a lot. No
I wonder why this one was down voted? Think about the timing, releasing this during DNC.Think about the nature of the alleged hack, so unprecedented. Think about the random process, this has never happened before. All these combined and hearing alleged doggy practice of Karl rove in the past can leade you to conclude the shady motivations behind this
What conspiracy? It's an absolute fact that she illegally used a private email server for official correspondence.
So, anyone with a brain realizes this is a political hit job leading up to the 2016 presidential election. So the promotion of this story has very few honest brokers involved & a lot of partisan motivation. But I am genuinely curious about this. It doesn't seem like wrongdoing per se, or even anything unethical. But I don't like the trend of losing documents from the historical record. And I think that (while her email security is probably better than State Dept. as a whole) it p
how is that different than say this? - https://www.npr.org/2016/06/12/481718785/clinton-scandals-a-...I can list other Admins as well if necessary? Trump insanity is public though, maybe we like our corruption more private, is that it?
Democrats before: C'mon the email issue wasn't a big deal.Democrats now: Treason! National Security!
I'm going to wait a while and see if this information pans out. Remember when there was a huge scandal about Trump communicating with Russia but then it just turned out to be a spam email? https://theintercept.com/2016/11/01/heres-the-problem-with-t...
