Makes sense considering the state of rural internet in many places.
It's not like in other nations there's great internet in the countryside.
It could be in a country where people don't have home wifi.
Assuming that internet connections are usually available ensures that your device will be utterly useless in many rural areas. In some places around my city, there is no broadband internet available at all, perhaps even when considering offerings from cell phone networks. There is one place in our city that offers free wifi, and few people are aware of it because they do not advertise it. Our library has computers one can use, but no wifi.People living in and around major cities may want to
how's the internet in those areas?
I'm sure you know rural California is not the only place without stable and fast internet access. And while that is one usage that will probably dominate in the developed world, have you considered the possibilities in Africa, Asia and the oceans?
Perhaps. Or even just monthly internet passes, for when you go on vacation to a place without proper broadband. You don't have to go very far outside of cities in the US to end up in a completely underserved area.
Good luck. I would be happy with even two nines of reliability and 5mb down and 1.5 up. But here I am, a whole hour outside a top 30 metro area, with only one internet option that isn't broadband or hughesnet. Rural people are the forgoten population in the tech progress.
Just a quick question, have you thought about satellite Internet services? Or is that not feasible/possible/...?
You should try rural southern U.S. Good luck finding a 4G connection.
