What about regenerative braking?

rblatz Apr 15, 2023 View on HN

Regen braking means you use the brake pads much less than non ev cars.

Isn’t regenerative braking similar?

eternauta3k May 25, 2025 View on HN

Aren't they using regenerative braking?

tordrt Apr 14, 2025 View on HN

Electric cars (some hybrids) use their brakes less due to regenerative breaking. So thats something at least.

johnea Feb 15, 2025 View on HN

Another argument for regenerative braking.

and then there's regenerative braking...

Tagbert Jan 16, 2023 View on HN

Teslas don’t use regen on the brake pedal. That is only using the friction brakes.

njarboe Mar 8, 2020 View on HN

Electric vehicles have regenerative braking when not braking hard. This dramatically reduces brake wear.

bregma Jul 9, 2022 View on HN

Not regenerative brakes. Only friction brakes work that way.
