The cluster centers on discussions about the global helium shortage, its non-renewable nature, and debates over wasteful uses like party balloons versus essential applications in cryogenics, medicine, and science.

I don't want to be a party pooper, but...Helium is scarce enough to stop using it for this kind of purposes.http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-24903034
Umm the world is running out of helium and there's no good way to make more. Not sure how this will be viable.
Isn't helium rather scarce, wouldn't there be much better uses for it than this?
We're running out of cheap helium. For applications like this, I'm sure it'll be fine.
One possible reason (not the GP so I don't know if this is theirs) is that there's a finite amount of helium available, so using it for this sort of use case depletes it for others.Personally I think a hydrogen version would be hilarious but others might disagree...
Considering the current helium shortage it's a shame they just wasted it.
I thought we had a limited supply of helium on the planet, seems strange that it just be left go, too expensive to retain?
Helium, for the time being, is a non-renewable resource, and there are concerns of a helium shortage for important applications like cryogenics. It is probably not a good idea to use helium as you suggested.
I wonder why Helium instead of much cheaper Nitrogen?
We are finding renewable pocket of helium, why do you want it not to happen ?
