That's why you use EBS and snapshots...

copergi Mar 26, 2014 View on HN

As others pointed out, you use EBS then.

on EBS, not on S3. EBS has much lower durability guarantees

What's wrong with EBS? And for what usage?

joevandyk Oct 22, 2012 View on HN

Just don't use EBS. Most everything else is pretty stable.

meltedice Jan 13, 2015 View on HN

EBS disks are far more durable (and convenient with S3 snapshots).

I'm sorry, I don't have experience with the Amazon cloud, I don't know what EBS is :)

dialtone Oct 22, 2012 View on HN

ELBs unfortunately use EBS so they are always affected in these cases.

contrahax May 21, 2013 View on HN

Why not just EBS at that point?

coffeemug Aug 21, 2013 View on HN

Sorry, the storage is EBS, the line in the docs is just misleading. We'll push a fix to the docs in a few mins.
