I've been meaning to try this other toolhttps://github.com/osbuild/bootc-image-builder
I think it could be interesting to explore Universal Blue based distros such as Bazzite for this kind of use cases. The OS comes from a standard OCI container image, which means you can create your own customized one by layering changes on top of an upstream base image.I feel bad for the unsolicited distro plug though especially since you already have a solution that works well and you are familiar with, but I thought it might still be useful to mention it. I'm not sure if uBlue would ev

vultr lets you install custom ISOs, can also pxeboot.
Could the Universal Blue image builder solve this for you?https://github.com/ublue-os/image-template
Pretty much yeah. For example OCI (Oracle Cloud) has a pretty small set of OS choices, with Debian not included, and on the free tier, I don't believe you can upload your own OS images anymore. I used a similar script for an OCI VM (https://github.com/bohanyang/debi), but this one obviously supports more OSes (haven't tried it yet but planning to try the reinstall to netboot.xyz opt
netboot.xyz allows you to preload the isos you want to boot :)
Can you use this to create PXE bootable systems?
Netboot.xyz allows you to self-host an instance of it, which can cache ISOs. I was doing it for a time, and thought it neat, but not worth the hassle to keep running.
Bootable USB that loads iPXE, with a custom boot config that downloads the kernel and initrd from your own cloud server?
