Bicycle Countersteering Debate
This cluster discusses the mechanics and necessity of countersteering for turning bicycles and motorcycles at speed, debating whether leaning alone suffices or if steering the front wheel oppositely is required, with references to experiments, videos, and physics.

More like how you have to steer a bike slightly in the opposite direction, before spinning the wheel towards the way you want to go.
The front wheel still kicks out in the opposite direction and counter steers for you due to the natural stabilizing properties of the bike
Good luck leaning a bike in motion without turning the front wheel.
You can, but it's not very effective. This 3 minute video explains how important counter-steering is with some actual experiments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWuTcJcqAng
You definitely countersteer on bicycles too!
Countersteering helps initiate that lean more quickly than just organic falling over. It's possible you're exceptionally patient but it's also possible you're just countersteering a little bit to initiative the lean, without noticing it.
Have you tried leaning to the left while biking in a straight line? It results in you turning left without your front wheel ever having gone to the right (i.e., turning without countersteer).
That's countersteering [1]. I find it very hard to explain but it's something that most people on a bicycle (at speed) or a motorcycle (again, at speed) do naturally.[1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Countersteering
Forcing the front wheel "against its will" is gonna make it lose its grip or make the whole bike unstable when turning.
I used to ride a bike with no hands. I was still able to countersteer! If I leaned to the left, the bike would lean to the right, the steering wheel would go right, then I could lean to the right into the turn.
