People disagreeing with the article aren't "dismissing AI". Did you read what it said?

I’m glad it helped. AI is often polarizing and brings out heated opinions.

You're 100% correct, I just didn't want to sound _too_ doom-and-gloom about AI, it feels like that's a quick way to get massively downvoted.

I continue to be shocked by how hateful and nasty some of you are when someone doesn't wholly approve of AI.

Maybe you're downvoted for calling a group of people liars rather than for liking AI.

It's rarely productive to take internet criticism into account, but it feels like AI is an especially strong instance of this. It seems like a lot of folks just want to pooh pooh any possible outcome. I'm not sure why this is. Possibly because of animosity toward big tech, given big tech is driving a lot of the research and practical implementation in this area?

This strikes me more of people pushing back against the hype than a genuine belief that AI is worthless.

I don't know why I and you are getting downvoted. Sometimes, HN crowd is just unhinged against AI.

You seem extremely biased against AI in general, to the point where I very much doubt anybody would benefit from hearing your opinions on it.

I don't know why you're being downvoted because even if you're Not Even Wrong, that's exactly the sort of thing that has been endlessly presented by people trying to sell AI as something that AI will absolutely do for us.
