That might disturb the ocean ecosystem.

This sounds like a disaster for the ecosystem in the sea and especially on the sea bed.

Kreutzer Apr 20, 2023 View on HN

Destruction of the sensitive ecosystems in and around the ocean, no doubt.

devindotcom Dec 14, 2022 View on HN

Not that I have a better solution, but won't this suck up and kill seabottom creatures and denude their habitat?

Tepix Jan 13, 2022 View on HN

If the ocean dies, so does mankind.

You're missing the forest for the treesThe coral reef thing was more of a marketing campaign, it's beautiful, it dies quickly, you can see it almost live, but all in all it doesn't matter muchOcean acidification, massive change in wind and ocean currents , the permafrost melting, loss of albedo in the poles, &c.These are all much bigger problems we can't deal with at all, it'll start self reinforcing loops we can't even pretend to understand yet

If not done properly it can kill sea life.

This sounds awful for marine wildlife.

addHocker Mar 27, 2020 View on HN

Thats gonna be a hard to swallow pill for a lot of sea wildlife.

Sounds promising. I wonder the possible impact on ocean ecology though.
