What makes them not as nice for your battery?
Also need replaceable batteries or atleast some standardized Li-Ion flat packs
Allow me to recommend low self-discharge NiMH batteries (Eneloop brand is excellent) and a good charger made for that chemistry.
Why don't they use 18650 batteries now?
i have read that the build quality of batteries has dropped.
You'd probably have better results if you didn't use the crappy $8 batteries...
You forget that batteries can be recycled.
I wonder which is more wasteful: A built-in rechargeable battery that lasts 500-1000 charge cycles but is difficult to replace, or a requirement of six AAA batteries that need replacement after every 3-4 hours of use.
Try a low self discharge battery. Less wasteful, more convenient, and you can reach in to a drawer a few months after charging them and know they'll work.
Why Eneloops instead of rechargeable batteries? Is there an advantage?
