Is there something like Oculus but... Well, in control of the user? Or at least less FB-y?
OcculusVR is dead. Can someone make a new Oculus VR that focuses on video games and not enabling Facebook to control everything you see. Get on it.
A cynical take? Oculus is a locked down ecosystem that fb purposefully sharded off.Anything but cynicism regarding this product is w-e-i-r-d.
Do humanity a favor and do not buy Oculus headsets.Force them to remove Facebook login from headsets, and force them to open their VR platform to people using any headset. If you don't, you may find yourself requiring an Oculus headset to work, do errands, etc. Just like Internet Explorer became the unavoidable plague of the 90s.
Why isn't it called the Facebook Oculus?
So this is the long awaited promise to use oculus with a facebook account? What a joke.
What does facebook have to do with Oculus?
It hasn't? I remember them announcing I needed a FB account to use it. I stopped following the Oculus after that, and went to the Vive. But that has a more limited market.
It sounds like this might apply to Oculus/Meta head-sets as well. I would buy one tomorrow if they didn't require a facebook account in good standing.
Oculus still requires a Facebook login; don't you see the conflict?
