Despite the clearly conservative leanings of this article (and I consider myself a moderate liberal) on this issue I whole-heartedly agree. I live in San Francisco, and to be quite honest the city is a disgrace. At what point do we draw the line between “let’s not lock people up for stupid reasons” and “literally anything goes whatsoever”. This city’s well-intentioned voters and government have created a monster. The city is disgusting. I would not advise anyone to visit. Recently some out of t
heroin is a huge problem in san francisco among the homeless. apparently it's cheaper than it's ever been and it seems to be attracting a lot of very bad people.i love it here but i've never seen it this bad.
Few agree with you, San Francisco is in a dire state. I work here and I walk past passed out people with needles in their arms, human feces littering the sidewalk, women with their toddlers on the street asking for money. BART stations smell like garbage. There is a homeless, mental health and drug crisis happening all at once condensed into a small geographical region. San Francisco still has some charm, but it's hard to appreciate these days.
Most cities don't have nearly the homeless/drug problem that SF has. It's abysmal here.
The stench of urine and feces is dominating, the random exposure to homeless folks mental problems is a daily occurrence, drug paraphernalia (eg: heroin needles) and trash are scattered throughout. SF downtown is an absolute dump.Go ahead, take a 30 minute walk just north of The Mission. Turn a corner and you'll find a homeless dude standing with a vacant look on his face and pants around his ankles, letting his penis sway in the morning sun.Turn another corner and you'll find so
I lived in San Francisco for 15 years, and it’s getting pretty nasty in some places. When ever I meet someone who’s visited San Francisco, almost without exception, they comment on the homeless problem. The problem is SF is so bad you can’t help but comment on it because you’ve likely never experienced anything like it elsewhere in the USA. Who wants to visit a city where the first thing you experience is aggressive panhandling and streets covered in poop?
I was in San Francisco for a while, and I feel so sad for the city. It is a beautiful city, but now a days, all I see is homeless, piss on the roads, drugs, needles. There are some good areas, but most of the downtown and touristy areas are like that. I pass by civic center bart station every day (5+ years now), and there are people standing there selling drugs (often youth 18+ or early 20s), and there are never police there, ZERO times I saw police catch someone. I think the whole city is prett
I've been living in San Francisco for 7 years and it just feels lawless.I've been kicked while riding my bike, I've had people come up and start screaming obscenities at me, I've been followed for multiple blocks by someone yelling at me, I've been threatened, I've witnessed people shooting up heroin and smoking crack in broad daylight dozens of times, I've seen a man pee himself in his wheelchair. The list goes on and on. Sure, you're going to see more
It’s also one of the only cities where cops don’t do anything about property crime and homeless people are free to harass you and break into your building and cars without any real repercussions. My neighbor worked for SFPD and we still had to get a restraining order against a homeless person to get them out of our buildings garage. It’s also one of the only cities where kids will have to see drug use like heroin being injected openly on public transportation.Geographically, San Francisco is
I live in SF. I consider myself very liberal. I know it's not the political orthodox for people on the left, but I will say, it is bad. It is very bad. You learn to live with it, but it's far worse than any other city i've ever lived in.I think it's a direct result of a complete and utter lack of real estate development, but the fact of the matter is people shit in the street here, regularly. People shoot up heroin openly here. Needles littered on the streets here is norma
