Sign up for a service that protects against DDoS such as CloudFlare.

Only for mini DDoS attacks - for larger ones they disable routing for your ip address. I guess they don‘t have the capacity to handle the big DDoS attacks nowadays.

Does this mean it will be even harder to DDoS sites protected by Cloudflare now?

revskill Jun 10, 2023 View on HN

What if the situation is the provider doesn't have built-in DDos protection ?

mattmanser Apr 25, 2012 View on HN

I don't know about the scale of the DDoS attacks but have you tried cloudflare?

jorblumesea Feb 18, 2020 View on HN

Yeah, because no one can DDOS your CDN or hosting box /s

DDOS doesnt just hit the endpoint, it hits networks that have little to do with it.
