Non-Ionizing Radiation Safety
Comments debate the health hazards of non-ionizing radiation from cell phones, WiFi, and radio waves, distinguishing it from ionizing radiation and mostly dismissing significant risks beyond potential heating or burns.

Is non-ionizing radiation hazardous?
Are you referring to non-ionizing radiation? Is there anything yet to show negative effects? My understanding is that there hadn't been conclusive study, but from what we know of thermal radiation there aren't known mechanisms for damage to occur within the FCC(think it's their rules?) guidelines.
It seems unlikely. It's just radio waves. Non-ionizing radiation. How have we all not been cooked by every other source of radio waves, many much more powerful than a cell phone, if this is so terrible?
Since it is non-ionizing radiation I'm not worried.
Yes, you're letting non-ionizing radiation out.
non-ionizing radiation can still impart heat, likely low risk of any bad effect, but it's something.
You shouldn't be. It's low power, non-ionizing radiation. It's not going to cause you any harm.
It’s non-ionizing radiation so would “only” cause radiation burns worst case. I don’t know what frequency the transmitter uses / how deeply the waves can penetrate, so you could also end up with “internal sun burn” as well external burns depending on the power and penetration.
Part of the problem with this idea is that your cell phone exposes your brain to trivial quantities of EM radiation in both absolute and relative terms. If EM in that spectrum had any kind of effect, we'd have seen it long since in people that live near radio masts, people that work with radar units and radio transmitters (military, mostly), people that sleep next to their wifi modems, people working in electrical generator rooms and physics labs, and people with old microwave ovens.
how does non-ionizing radiation produce harm?
