All my uniqlo t-shirts are falling aparts within 3 years. Other brands aren't much better..
Right now I'm wearing a pair of their twill jeans I've had for nearly 20 years now. There's a tiny bit of pilling in the knees you can only see close up. Otherwise they look brand new every time they come out of the wash.A lot of their stuff isn't to my style, but I've had really solid luck with the stuff that is. I've got multiple pairs of long underwear and down vests and such from back when I snowboarded a lot, again, all of them held up really well.
Had a very similar issue with socks. Re-ordered after ~4 years of the old socks wearing out. New socks came with the brand stitch in different color, and the new ones are already wearing out in ~4 months.
I buy $12 synthetic fabric shirts that last for 100+ wear/wash cycles without needing mending.
Buy for durability instead of trendy stuff. Favor trekking or work clothes.
i have dickies workpants i bought 15 years ago still going strong :)
Same but i haven’t been able to find a pair that doesn’t get holes in them after 3 years. For the price i would like something that lasts a bit longer.Currently using bombas but going to try darn tough next.
Yup price != quality at all.I too have a hoodie which is probably going on 15 years old now. It's finally started getting faded and looking a bit old but still very much usable, think it came from Walmart when I was visiting the US.In the same vein I've got an old pair of dirt cheap trainers I bought on another US trip in about 2008, still abosolutely fine and cost under $20. In contrast the expensive pair of converse I bought less than 2 years ago are already falling apart.
I had some Levi's 501s that I got at a farm supply store for $12 when I was in college (early 80s). I wore them regularly for about 15 years then occasionally until a few years ago. They had no holes when I donated them. Newer 501s don't last anywhere near that long.Carhartts are more functional for me now, but they wear out after 5-8 years depending on the style (model?). I haven't noticed any change in durability since I started wearing them 18 years ago.I have several pai
I'll second Patagonia. I have a zip-up sweater of theirs that was around a decade old that still looked brand new despite wearing it at least once a week and I got the zipper stuck in something and it broke. They replaced the zipper no cost, no problems, free shipping.
