these corporations may as well be the government
Wait, I thought the government was bought by corporations?
I think your idea of distinction between "governments" and "corporations" is naive
It begs the question... who's in charge here? The government or the corporations?
Any sufficiently powerful corporation is indistinguishable from a government. There aren't many corporations who currently exercise their money to get such power, but it's happened before and can certainly happen again.
> Corporation should not be synonymous with government. They aren't the same thing, but that doesn't prevent them from having features in common. They are both big, powerful entities that don't have my interests at heart, and are both therefore threats to my liberty (especially when they work together to undermine it).
Government is a corporation at extreme.
Making such big difference between government and (big) companies seems naive. One should never trust neither government nor companies. They are not that different, both are power structures with vastly more power and different concerns and priorities than an individual. There are many parallels between them. Companies run on economic power, government run on political (and also economic and hard) power. Companies are kept at bay by market forces, government by democratic process. Both of them
