wow Google can't even deal with a butt out cordial HN hug? Really reflects well for their cloud offerings... sheesh
Do you think they give up on Google Cloud at some point?
GCP seems like a major player in this field even though google is also ad company known for sunsetting products and suspending accounts without clear resolution path (search for "gcp suspended" at HN).
GCP ? No thanks, I've had enough trouble with google to know they don't care about having a real support.
Unfortunately, Google have the tendency to kill their cloud products.
Counterpoint on GCP: Way too risky to use as a small to medium business. Google has a known history of firing its customers without recourse.
My previous employer was a GCP customer. Google did pull occasional shenanigans totally breaking us with random upgrades without notifying us. Their support wouldn’t acknowledge it was their fault until we were mad at them.My newer employer is AWS. Their offerings are a lot more stable and support is helpful. If you want to build a serious business I would avoid GCP. Google doesn’t really give a shit at winning Cloud. Ads is their core business.
As someone who uses GCP and AWS, I would be weary of putting your eggs on one specific product from Google. THey historically always complicate things and will discontinue / change things on the fly that's not in a users best interest generally.

I expect you'll get plenty of answers here, and I suspect they'll all be along the same lines;I don't trust Google.Of all the companies I've dealt with, they speak their intentions the clearest - they don't care about me or my needs. There is no customer support (since we are not customers) - even if we give them money for GCP etc, we are seen as Users not Customers. They're famous for killing products, they're famous for changing pricing (hello Google
