You seem to be admitting mistake, complaining about being corrected, and dismissing the process all at once. But I'm sure you learned something :)

The author was wrong, and then corrected their post. Why get indignant on their behalf?

You said: "Because part of the process of saying that something is wrong is being willing to learn that maybe you are the wrong one." So which is it? Are they wrong for sure, or are you willing to learn that you may be the wrong one?

In this case, the person was happy to be corrected: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=35644828

You should learn to admit when you're wrong.

Sometimes it's better for everyone to just say "oh, you're right I was mistaken"

If finding out you’re wrong feels mean to you, you’re not going to get far in this world.

Thanks for this, it's always tough to admit when one is wrong.

Being wrong is ok. Being wrong while being belligerent is not ok.

Because part of the process of saying that something is wrong is being willing to learn that maybe you are the wrong one. Ironically, you are wrong. Not only are there better ways to let people know they're wrong when you're 100% right, but in your example you aren't even sure you're 100% right, yet telling others they're wrong.Good luck with that :)
