Make a human powered flying vehicle
you don't need a quad/octo copter to do this, it could be a winged aircraft, and those are several orders of magnitude more efficient.
Where are the self-flying airplanes?
More like a ultra-light plane / helicopter hybrid or so, isn't it?
Try gliders (without engines) then, they're very safe
Perhaps the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cirrus_Vision_SF50 is along the lines of what you had in mind?
I build and fly flying wings that don't have computers
The plane they are planning to build looks like it could glide by itself.
wow thats not even a plane in the video! its a square sled with quadcopter motors thats taking a plane body for a ride.https://www.liftaircraft.com/ has what I think of when I think of a possible future mode of transporation through the air.
seems like no video of taking off by itself, they seem to have some catapult/string to take off, so if it can't take off it's not really a plane, just glider
